So I took my first real bike ride in NYC last week. I brought my camera with me and rode about 13 miles total from Houston up the west side highway to 120th. It was one of the few times I've even BEEN above 70th st while living here. It was a great experience and I'll definitely do more biking soon, hopefully not with a fixed gear bike with no brakes where you can't coast, though.

So I've been out of touch a lot recently. See: Stats + Money & Banking for an explanation on that one. Anyways it seems like Fall has finally taken it's toll on NYC, changing the leaves.

Anyways, last week I went to the New Museum. Honestly, it was lackluster. The art was all trying way too hard to be art (check out half of the Life & Nature section for examples of this) and I was only not thoroughly disappointed because I went on a night where there is free admission. The exterior used to have a huge digital rainbow on it, but after walking by it today I saw this new three story rose.

Yesterday took a day trip North of Boston. Initially I was headed to North Conway, NH but after getting hammered by traffic, change was needed. First stop was York, Maine.

The lighthouse is actually an island and in order to get over there, the operator has to take a gondola type lift across the water.

Even a Yankee fan could appreciate the views from the lighthouse.

After seeing the town as well as the "Zoo", next stop was Portsmouth, NH. This was my first time ever there and it reminded me a bit of Northampton, MA except bigger, nicer, and by the water. I saw the main downtown area, as well as over by the water.

Almost six total hours of driving and three states later, I finally got back into Massachusetts and capped the day off with some Bertuccis and Kimball's ice cream.

On Sunday I went down to Long Wharf and walked around over there. A shot from there and a few shots from the South Boston shoreline near the B of A Pavilion.

Went to Harvard Square today. Caught this storefront after leaving The Tannery just in time for Iniesta's goal. After that, grabbed some amazing Sushi on Newbury Street for dinner. I ran into the accordion player, while walking off dinner through Boston Common, just before the rain turned the walk into a run.
